Seasilk ® is a hormone-free, vegan intimacy lubricant designed to prioritise user comfort and enhance experience
Removing barriers and hormonal drugs for closer connection that prioritises user control through usage on-demand that doesn't require a male's consent like a condom.
Seasilk is still currently in preclinical development as a UK medical device and is undergoing regulatory assessment in line with MHRA requirements.
Importantly, Seasilk sits within an established class of hormone-free, on demand contraceptives called vaginal pH modulators (VPMs). Phexxi Gel was exclusively approved is the US following FDA clinical studies that achieved efficacies of >90% under study conditions.
Seasilk comparatively is being independently developed for the UK market with it's own formulation, clinical evidence and regulatory pathway

Seasilk Gel Technology

Revolutionising natural protection through pH balance

Seasilk ® contraceptive gel is a vaginal pH modulator which maintains the natural acidic conditions in the vagina during and after intercourse.
These conditions are naturally inhospitable to sperm and form a protective environment.

Organic Acids
01
These natural acids are found in the human body, they provide a gentle yet effective protection, promoting skin health and intimate comfort without harsh chemicals.

Vegan Binders
02
Vegan ingredients are expertly combined to form a stable gel, holding the active components while maintaining safety and effectiveness.
03

Salts & Acidity Regulator
Salts are balanced to ensure the osmolarity of our gel aligns with the human body to maintain hydration. Meanwhile an acidity regulator maintains our optimal pH range.

Preservative
As all ingredients are food-safe, so a medical grade preservative is included for a practical shelf life.

Seasilk's Story

My mother raised my brother from the age of seventeen, facing discrimination and financial pressure as a single parent.
Despite the odds, she went on to become a fully qualified accountant while raising three children. Her resilience shaped my values and showed me how access to opportunity can change the course of a life.

At twenty, my first long term partner after 3 years began using hormonal birth control and experienced severe side effects, including mood changes and hair loss.
At the time, I didn’t fully understand what was happening or how profoundly it was affecting her wellbeing and our relationship.
Looking back, I now see how what we thought would seek protection and intimacy instead created distance, not through intention.
Asking about other's experiences I know I am not alone and that is supported by reports generated by the incredible work done at the British Pregnancy Advisory Service.
With a background in biopharmaceuticals, that experience stayed with me. It became the starting point of a journey to explore whether contraception could be effective, accessible, and gentler on the body.
That journey became Seasilk.
